Talcum Powder And Ovarian Cancer Lawsuit
Home | Talcum Powder and Ovarian Cancer Lawsuit
No one expected that talcum powder would be a product that would cause harm. The soft powder many women use for hygiene is associated with causing ovarian, lung, mesothelioma, and other diseases. Its key ingredient, a mineral, has often been found to be contaminated with asbestos.
Asbestos is a harmful carcinogen that causes the diseases and cancers mentioned. As studies surfaced linking the use of talcum powder with the development of ovarian cancer, many lawsuits followed suit.
For decades, women have been the primary consumers of talcum powder. Unbeknownst to the dangerous effects, consumers use the product as a perineal antiperspirant. Women who live in hotter and humid climates in the United States use it to stay dry.
Unfortunately, big manufacturers who produce talcum powder, such as Johnson & Johnson, consciously sold their product, knowing its dangers and risks for over 40 years. They never warned their consumers of the terrible dangers.
As more studies surface on the negative implications of talcum powder, it is evident that it has harmed many women.
If you or a loved one has used talcum powder and developed ovarian cancer, you must contact an attorney who represents clients in Sayville, NY, and Suffolk County, New York.
You could be entitled to damages. Currently, numerous cases have been filed against Johnson & Johnson. Most assuredly, many more victims will step forward as they become diagnosed with ovarian cancer due to the use of talcum powder.
When a manufacturer purposefully fails to warn their consumers of a hazardous product, the law provides that they should be held liable for their negligence.
